F-105B-5-RE Thunderchief #54-0107
This Thunderchief is in the markings of the Wright Air Development Center/ARDC
while doing cold weather tests at WPAFB, OH and Eielsen AFB, AK in 1958. Spent
most of her career as a test aircraft. She is now preserved at Hickory, NC.
I finished the F-105 with Plasti-kote #387 Aluminum enamel.  You cannot apply it
to the model from the spray can. It comes out way too heavy. It has to be sprayed
into a jar so it can be applied with an air brush.  The  ARDC and Wright markings
for the aircraft and base were designed with Corel Draw  9 and printed with my
Alps printer.  I used clear acrylic rod to mount the model. I epoxied brass tubing
into the tail cone/fuselage for strength and the rod to slide into. The base was
finished and hand polished.
