62-4425 F-105G-1-RE Thunderchief
29 December 1972- While assigned to the 17 WWS, 388 TFW, Korat RTAB, Thailand, this F-105 flew
on the final Wild Weasel mission of "Linebacker II." The crew was Capt. Jimmy Boyd, pilot and
Capt. Kim Pepperell, EWO.

62-4425 survives and is on display at American Legion Post 325, Blissfield, MI.

I've had this kit since they were put out in the '80s.  Some parts/pieces have a tendency to warp with
the 1/72 scale kits if they've been laying around that long. The Wings were warped. Had to glue and
clamp them in sections letting each section to dry overnight before doing the next section. They came
out okay. The left upper part of Fuselage half in the Cockpit area was warped. Got it fixed the best I
could but the Canopies don't fit quite right.

Since I was replicating a Factory display model, all the raised Panel Lines were removed. Finished
with Model Master enamels.  The  markings are from Super Scale #72-555.  The stand base I cast of
solid resin from a mold I made of a Republic factory base. Weapons are from Hasegawa Weapons Set
IV.
