A Lady friend of mine commissioned me to do a model of her 2007 Mustang Convertible.
There are no convertible kits available for the S-197 body style so I had to make one. Studying photos of
the back seat area of the convertible, just cutting the roof off the GT would not work. The back seat area
in a convertible is different. The side panels have no armrest and the seat is narrower. I also have no way
to make a tonneau cover. So, I used a Revell 2006 Mustang GT kit and a Revell 2010 Mustang
Convertible Snap-Tite kit.
The color is Vista Blue and there isn't a model paint that comes close to that color. I had to use Factory
touch-up paint sprayed with my airbrush. Clear lacquer overcoat was applied, sanded and polished.
The rocker stripe, hood stripe, front and rear license plate and Sexy '07 on the front bumper were drawn
with Corel and printed with an Alps. Blue interior inserts were airbrushed.
