Tehachapi Loop
These photos were taken during my 1999 trip to Phan Con '99 held at Pt. Mugu NAS, CA.  After the
'Airplane' event, I decided to do something different, so, I spent several days wandering the California
desert chasing trains. As you don't see trains like this on the East Coast were I live, I just had to do it.
I had read about the Tehachapi Loop so I had to spend a few days there. I wandered to the top of a hill
near the loop where you could see the trains travel the whole loop. I also spent some time in the town
of Tehachapi. The trains come through there and occasionally stop at a track side convenience store.
Yes, one of the crew will run in and get coffee and such then the train goes on it's way.
